Anchoring Your Putter “Are You Ready for the Changes coming January 2016?” We all agree Golf is  a fun game that tests your skills and abilities against a golf course and what it presents to you daily.  If you are anchoring your putter, the amount of fun you experience will change in just 4 short months, possibly in a direction you do not want to experience.  Are you ready to do away with the anchor you’ve been using to make your putting more consistent?  Are you ready for the changes the USGA is throwing at the golfer having fun, who is anchoring your putter? If you are the casual golfer, interested more about fun versus competition, stick with anchoring your putter.  The positives doing so far outweigh the negatives.  Anchoring has its place in golf, for those with disabilities who have a difficult time putting due to small muscle coordination, or those individuals with poor eyesight.  So long as the people you are playing with agree that anchoring is okay with them, before the first shot is hit, go right ahead and continue with what you are doing, anchoring your putter so you have fun and enjoy the game! But what if you do decide to play in the club championship one day, or a local USGA Qualifier, or if you have your heart set on being one of the world’s best players one day, are you prepared to forever abandon your Belly Putter, or the long putter you hard…
